Sarah Milthorpe is an educator and professional learning facilitator who helps teachers build confidence, strengthen practice and navigate the realities of classroom life.

Through Milthorpe Education, she works with teachers, schools and leaders across three areas: practical classroom practice, teacher growth and specialist language teaching support.

Over more than two decades in Victorian secondary education, Sarah has worked as a classroom teacher, mentor and professional learning facilitator, developing curriculum across subjects including Science, Biology, Food Technology and Italian. Her work is grounded in the space between knowing what good teaching looks like and being able to do it confidently, consistently and sustainably.

One of the strongest examples of this came from her own classroom. After years of watching students lose confidence as language learning became more difficult, Sarah led a five-year whole-program redesign built around Extensive Processing Instruction (EPI), supporting a teaching team through the transition and helping grow Year 10 language enrolments from 47 to 120 students, a 155% increase.

That experience shaped a belief that sits at the heart of Milthorpe Education: teachers who understand what matters, why it matters and how to apply it are far more likely to make lasting improvements to their practice.
